National and State Environmental Policy Act Preparation and Review

Hamer Environmental staff is experienced with national and state legal and agency requirements for the development of formal NEPA/SEPA documents such as EIS's and EA's. 2008-2009. Vegetation cover typing, habitat assessments, GIS mapping of habitat types, avian point count surveys, and development of a habitat restoration plan, North-central Oregon, Western Rivers Conservancy.

2005-2008. Pre- and post construction evaluation of collision potential for fall migrating raptors with a transmission line, Chelan County, Washington, Chelan County P.U.D. No. 1.

2007. Evaluation of the effects of construction of a transmission line on wildlife and rare plants, Chelan County, Washington, Chelan County P.U.D. No. 1.

2007. Pre- and post construction monitoring: seabird carcass surveys and monitoring of seabird presence to mitigate for potential impacts to diving seabirds from construction of a ferry terminal, Anacortes, Washington, Anchor Environmental and Washington State Ferries.

2004-2006. Development of methods to mitigate for potential impacts to diving seabirds from construction activities associated with the Hood Canal Bridge, Puget Sound, Washington, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Washington Department of Transportation.

2006. Wildlife, botanical and mollusk studies for a road right-of-way project, Olympic National Park, Washington, Olympic National Park, and Rayonier, Inc.

2004. Evaluation report for the five-year status review of the Marbled Murrelet in Washington, Oregon, and California, Scientific Panel Member and Project Lead, EDAW, U.S. Fish and Wildlife. (PDF)

2000-2003. Habitat assessments, cover-typing and GIS mapping of forested sites for evaluation of habitat suitability for a number of terrestrial species, Baker River Dam Relicense, Washington, Puget Sound Energy.
